Pros

- Oracle consist of a lot of acquired startups which absolutely don't conform to the stuffy corporate image Oracle has - incredible WLB - above average pay - legacy groups (DB, MySQL, Java) still have some of the brightest minds in the entire industry - extremely large scale offers unique opportunities - remote work - company paid conferences, training, travel - D&I is taken seriously

Cons

- Bureaucracy. Yes, every big company has it, and yes, it's worse at Oracle. - volatility in the cloud org has impeded aspects of critical feature development, and it remains totally uncompetitive - security are hamstrung by top-down corporate policies that make no sense - "eat your own dogfood" applies here but Oracle internal products are awful - no raises. dry promotions, dive & save offers come too late to retain talent
