Pros

My remote schedule is very flexible although I do work with international time zones. My team tries to do monthly social calls and engagements online. I feel fairly compensated for the workload that I do. The people I work with are very kind and collaborative, always willing to answer questions and help.

Cons

Oracle does not offer annual merit salary increases, so in other words you only get a salary increase if you are promoted.

Pros

- Great benefits (cafeteria, health insurance at Union, life insurance, BKK pass) - Good work-life balance but solely depending on your manager - Chance to attend at conferences - Some team are really great - The Hungarian office is really nice and you can park in the building

Cons

- Too much micromanaging, and it's all about serving the business. The organization I worked for was solely focused on internal tools, yet we operated as if we were in a competitive market (tight deadlines, no room for quality work). - The vast majority of management doesn't even know a thing about the latest trends, technologies, methods, etc. Most of them have been there for 20+ years with outdated knowledge, and they try to impose their mindset on others. - If your manager is not American, forget about promotions. - Salaries and focal are determined by Safra Catz; managers can't do anything about it. - There is no UX maturity. - We could only use internal tools and frameworks (Oracle JET).
