Pros

Engineers are awesome; people are great below senior management.

Cons

Read the older reviews from 2015 and before carefully -- they are spot on. The recent reviews were added at the behest of HR to cover-up the negative, earlier reviews. Senior Management is the main problem with this company and ruins the potential of very talented engineers. Also, don't let them tell you they do advanced analytics or machine learning work -- they do very little to none of this anymore and are more of a product/integration company now.

Might be OK for Developers who are interested in the technology and solutions and don't expect to interact with senior management.

Cons

Believe the earlier and most recent reviews. Inquire about turnover and management culture. Remember the same CEO is still running the show.

Management is aware of this situation. Orbis recently acquired two companies. Often when companies are acquired, employees are not comfortable with new management. As an example of our dedication to employee care, only one employee hired since 2018 has left the company.

Lots of Potential Completely Wasted

Pros

Great at hiring good talent, some very bright people, teams were collaborative and all the developers I worked with were bright. The Project Leads were talented as well, and I have to applaud the work they have done in trying to fulfill unrealistic expectations of management team (mainly CEO)

Cons

As stated before, the main problems at Orbis lie within the uppermost management. Abusive CEO, almost textbook like an abusive relationship, requirements could change at a moment's notice, not being able to read his mind was punished with verbal abuse. I never was yelled at myself, but was in more that one meeting where I would see it happen. The project manager's did their best to shield and defend hard-working development team, but it was an impossible task. Inflexible policies, despite small company size and the fact that the technology industry should allow for some of the most flexible work environments of all. Long hours and overtime expected, without compensation. It has been said better than I could possibly say it in previous reviews, but it cannot be restated enough.
