      The Best Place to Work in Chicago

      Pros

      This company really does care about the community and the employees. There are a lot of green initiatives happening in the company that help reduce corporate waste. Also, we get 2 paid days off a year specifically designed to go volunteer somewhere in the community. The paid week off between Christmas and New Year's Eve isn't too shabby either!

      Cons

      This could be considered a con to some, but the overall structure of the company is very horizontal, not vertical. There are plenty of chances to get into a new department and try new jobs, but advancing in your own field can be difficult. It's just the way the company is set up.

      Pros

      Very smart, engaged employees at all levels. A fun place to work but also a place where you will be challenged and intellectually engaged. Senior management goes out of their way to communicate the strategic direction and key initiatives to the employee base through Town Hall meetings and other forums. Orbitz is well known for utilizing cutting edge technology so your skill set stays sharp.

      Cons

      Going through some growing pains. Sometimes there are not efficient processes in place for getting things done. The culture is highly collaborative and this can hinder effective decision making. Things are definitely going in the right direction.
