Origami Risk reviews about "upper management"

Sometimes people would bring in FireCakes, and if you weren't quick enough or were on a call, you would just have to sit there as everyone around you enjoyed a donut while they pointed at you laughing and saying your shirt was too tight. Other than that the place is all around great!

Extreme lack of communication between departments, and communication from upper management to lower management and associates. Culture has evaporated, annual in person team meetings and the annual in person colleague conference have been canceled, with very little explanation. The explanation provided seemed a little fishy. This is all leading to speculation about a potential sale. Hiring has been limited in Service which is leading to a lot of burnt out colleagues with no relief in sight.

Upper management. Director of Bus Dev only is concerned about numbers and not the good of the reps. BDRs were once called “overhead costs” in a meeting by a higher up. Minimal opportunities for career growth as well.

Focused on hiring bodies instead of holding out for experienced candidates. Not a lot of career growth opportunities.

I have never worked for a company where more people seemed ready to cry at any given moment. Colleagues are constantly commenting on the unattainable volume of work that they are expected to complete. Everyone seems burned out - the sense of ownership and accountability that I once felt seems to be all but lost. Upper management announces organizational changes, etc but then fails to act on those or communicate what will be happening, leaving everyone with a sense of uncertainty. Origami 'strategically' acquired another company but then did nothing with them and iced many of those new colleagues out of the day to day - seems like some bad decisions were made. Feedback from colleagues is that people they have referred for roles have been completely ghosted - what is really going on here??

So many people are leaving because they don't promote from within. There's no opportunity for growth . Sales quotas are impossible to hit and they KNOW that and use it as a reason to let people go (but not everyone...seems selective). They push for lower employees to be in the office while upper management is allowed fully remote. Diversity is also very minimal.
