Pros

As a tech its great for a young person who needs the experience of hard work, and learning to communicate with customers. You build a great network for yourself if you are in the right area of town.

Cons

As sales they will tell you leads are fed to you. They aren't...maybe the techs will toss a few your way if you are assigned to the right techs. Most of the time the techs will send you on a wild goose chase IF they send anything for you. If that happens, you are expected to sell prevention which is unbelievably expensive. Off season is awful pay with little salary. Natural leads come once in a blue moon in the off season, and most of the products outside of the wheelhouse of treating for pests are astronomically more expensive than competitors in the actual market such as gutter companies, insulation companies, etc.

Management lies

Pros

Hard to think of any. At first you get paid a regular paycheck for 3 months then you are expected to be on straight commission.

Cons

You are expected to con customers into buying service from Orkin. You are forced to make people finance instead of just paycheck or cash. They want you to show up at 8 am every morning Even if your first appointment isn't until 10 am hours away in the other direction. Management will absolutely lie to your face, management does not pull you aside when you make a mistake or not performing up to standards. They literally do it in front of everybody. Call you out. Shame you let you know you're not doing a good job. Or you made a mistake or just about anything that's going on. They want to make sure everyone knows about it.

Pros

Great management team that genuinely wants you to succeed Solid training and support for new hires Lots of potential to advance within the company Lucrative pay structure once you build your customer base Strong brand name and trusted reputation

Cons

Leads can be slow at times, especially in certain seasons Long hours can be required to meet goals Some days are more unpredictable depending on the workload
