      Cons

      5-6 days a week 55-65 hours a week. You get "overtime" but it doesnt make a big difference to pay.

      Pros

      Orkin is a friendly workplace where you get to meet all kinds of people. You never experience monotony and there is always more to learn. You can increase your pay check by simply bringing up the other services we offer to your customers and generate sales. You have the option to take the truck home with you so you don’t have to put miles on your own vehicle and you get a company cell phone. Advancement opportunities are available if you work hard to pursue them. Orkin is a place you can make a carreer out of. They match 100% for the first 3% of contributions to 401k and 50% for the next 3%. Vacation time is plentiful and quickly given out. Sign up for insurance as soon as day one.

      Cons

      Expensive insurance. Unpredictable hours. Odd payment system. Not a job for the lazy or the non-motivated. Only 5 paid holidays. Only 3 (personal time off) days. Calling in greatly inconvenience everyone so you really have to determine what is an emergency.

      Pros

      Good benefits. Company has been around a long time and not going anywhere.

      Cons

      Sales are done from a call center which takes commissions away from the on site technician. There is no way to quote a job effectively without doing a inspection first. Most times we get to customers home and the quote is way under bid. Hard to change price when it has been previously quoted over the phone.
