Pros

Learn a lot of areas of clinical research, for self-starters in medicine.

Cons

Too many working parts, no real training, sink or swim managing. Heavy workload. No work/life balance.

New nurses should run

Pros

Training but it depends on having a good preceptor After 1 year you are marketable

Cons

Training depends on preceptor Too much paperwork Huddles make no difference. As a new nurse you don't know any better so you may feel as if you should pick up more shifts. Don't do it. Your back and sanity will thank you. I still have a sore shoulder from an injury. Oh and don't get injured- management will keep asking when you are coming back (during workers comp). You will not be able to eat, even if you make time- if the work goes over your shift time- the next shift will complain. I lost a lot of weight just trying to get the work done I was nauseous at the end of each shift My head hurt, my blood pressure was high I started crying towards the end of my first year Hospital work does a good job of killing your confidence, and makes you numb towards yourself feeling pain.
