      Orlando Health IT Job review

      Pros

      Job security. Being a large health care system they rarely if ever lay off IT people. There are medium size IT dept so there is a good chance to lateral move to other departments.

      Cons

      All most impossible to get ahead here they rarely promote from within and love to swap up management at least once a year. The senior IT managers manage through indimatiation and a culture of reprisal.

      Pros

      Benefits are average. It's one of two hospital systems in town. Great communication between the hospital systems-- whatever one hospital system does, the other soon follows suit. ; )

      Cons

      Little room for advancement . The same people keep being shuffled around. Management is obsessed with cutting costs. Chronic understaffing, cutting basic supplies. So much focus on admitting and discharging that time is limited for the patients already there.

      Friendly people Good pay for my position Experience from working in a hospital setting Differential pay good accrual of PTO and good chances of getting your time off approved

      Management does not recognize when praise is directed towards my job title Work place can be sometimes demeaning Overall it's very hard to get noticed
