Good Company but no place for a career

Pros

Excellent benefits & opportunities for work experience. PTO/leave is very generous, along with all the holiday days the firm gives.

Cons

Micro-Management, Work Silos, Feedback/advice, is ignored entirely. There is almost no documentation, no training, no standards for how things are setup. What little there is, it is not followed or correct as it is outdated. The opportunity to advance your career is very limited as very little is invested back to those trying to make Orrick great using their specific skills.

Pros

Modern offices, laid back environment (relatively, compared to other BigLaw firms), good pay and benefits.

Cons

Experience really depends on your manager, can be negative if you don't work on the right team. Expectation to work long hours. Everything is geared toward rainmakers and superstar partners. Even if it's not always the best idea, they ultimately call the shots. Lots of brown-nosing and being fake.
