Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for bringing your concerns to our attention. I’m sorry to hear about your experience working on the Technology team at Advisor Group. It is certainly not our intention for the work environment to be as you described. The Technology team is committed to engaging all of its employees in its mission to deliver best-in-class solutions to advisors and employees. In our efforts last year to become a standalone company from an IT perspective, it was all hands on deck and a tremendous amount of work was successfully completed in a short period of time. The hard work of the entire IT team and their dedication to completing the project was and continues to be very much appreciated. Moving forward, the Technology team is focused on building a highly engaged team of individuals who are empowered, engaged and rewarded for their contributions.

Great place to work for, benefits could improve

Pros

Very talented group of people to work with. Amazing work life balance. Flat organization with all levels of management being very accessible and approachable. I feel that compensation, at least for external hires, is very competitive. Generous with merits and bonus as well if you put in the hours and effort you will be rewarded

Cons

I think the benefits are losing competitiveness. 15 days of PTO with only 40 eligible hours to roll over from year to year. I don't believe 15 days of PTO is competitive with other wires/broker dealers and even worse to only allow 5 days to be rolled over, meaning you lose what you don't use. I have yet to find anything specific to education benefits - some companies offer tuition assistance, reimbursable professional designation expenses, online university to help employees learn more about other job functions such as accounting classes, public speaking, or basic coding/SQL

Thank you for the comments. I wanted to clarify the PTO and continuing education programs at Advisor Group to ensure mutual understanding. We do provide a competitive time off program which grants a total of 36 paid days off for all new hire employees (20 vacation, 5 sick, 2 volunteer, 9 holidays). The vacation days are pro-rated based upon start date for first year employees which may be why you cited only 15 PTO days. We also believe that continuing education has a positive impact on an employee’s contribution to the Company, so we offer the Advisor Group Education Assistance Program. Once approved, employees can be reimbursed for courses relevant to current or a future job within the Company as long as eligibility requirements are met. Should you still have questions, please reach out to your HR Business Partner or to me, Charlie Beck, VP Total Rewards & Systems.
