Pros

I liked my job and the teams I was working with. Can't complain about the salary.

Cons

In 2 years working at OS I never met the company leaders in person. It seems there's a hierarchical distance that is created on purpose. I've worked in bigger corporations where I would have roundtables/all hands with the CEO/COO at least twice a year. Also, constant layoffs give a really bad image for the company, this is just weak management. After being laid-off, most of the people I have worked with have also been let go, very competent people who unfortunately are just seen as numbers.

Pros

Good opportunities to grow as a professional and in terms of salary. Opportunity to experiment and leverage the latest and greatest technology (e.g. K8s, Cloud Native, AI Frameworks, etc). In general the culture is good with people caring and collaborating each other, but there are some exceptions depending where you land.

Cons

Fast pace company with frequent organizational changes to adapt to the industry disruptions (e.g. AI). The pace of change of technology/tooling is fast and so the cognitive load on the engineering teams is high. The engineering skills is strong so it's a great opportunity to learn, but sometimes can be overwhelming.
