Prepare for Long Hours and Potential Burnout

Pros

Remote role, gained additional skills.

Cons

Stressful work environment. You're expected to do the work of several people/departments. When you ask upper management to hire additional help, your requests go ignored and nothing changes. Be prepared for burnout and long hours working here. Apparel sizing is inconsistent. It runs either very large or very small.

Pros

I feel valued in my role and enjoy the people I work with. Everyone here cares about the work we are doing, each in our roles, but also in working as a team to make a difference in the mission to create sustainable clothing and care each day about the importance of fair labor. I love the scale and pace, and very excited about the growth of the company and the opportunity for all of us to develop and be a part of the wins.

Cons

It is great work and we are growing as a company daily, you need to be able to appreciate that no two days are the same and that you have to enjoy being strategic and that this is not a place where every day is the same and routine. You have to like being a part of an ever changing growing business and open to change and yet, so much fun to be a part of it!

Pros

I loved working at Outerknown because their mission and purpose align with my passion for sustainability and environmental awareness. My fellow colleagues were amazing and I felt my manager did a wonderful job of listening to me and she always had my best interest in mind. Leaving Outerknown was an extremely tough decision, but I am happy to say my experience taught me so much that I will take with me as I grow in my career.

Cons

I did feel a little disconnected from the rest of the company due to working remotely. I feel that having more opportunities for virtual social events would have been a huge benefit to my time with Outerknown.
