Pros

Once you have seniority (which takes years) the pay is decent.

Cons

Deceptive practices include 1. Paying less than minimum wage during 2 week training period. You'll average about $3-$4 per hour. How they get away with this is mind blowing. It's illegal. 2. They use you during training period. Because they know that you are not costing them anything. They work you long hours and use you for additional manual labor, even past 12 hours. The trainer even goes home and leaves you to work. 3. They promise "Plenty of hours". The hiring Manager, even promised "Oh ya, you'll get 40 hours right now during the summer and fall season, then it will drop off due to inclement weather". This is nonsense. At the Wheatfield location, even the drivers with some seniority are lucky to get 1-2 days per week. 4. Pay differential. I was recruited under the preface that pay was $34 per hour. But was then steered to the Wheatfield location where the starting pay is $20 per hour. BIG difference. Nonsense. I am an OTR truck driver with over 6 years experience. $20 an hour is an insult. Doesn't matter if I'm driving in the corn fields or in the city. 5. Blatant dishonesty and misleading promises to try and keep drivers only for when they need them. Good luck getting a straight answer to your questions, especially about hours. 6. Assigning uneducated little boys to do their training who haven't a clue what they are doing. Its a joke.

Pros

Every day is different. The pay grade substantiates what I feel I'm worth.

Cons

A plethora of cons. Denied, denied, denied, vacation time, time off and early offs. Poorest communication I've ever experienced in the work field. They preach family and your family tree has no branches. They will kick you to the curb in an instant. They talk team but you're left to stand alone, again and again. They preach the word and are total hypocrites and now greed and ego has stepped in. Sadly, because this was the greatest place to work when run by the forefathers. Heck, we even prayed before we started each day. Now we get micromanaged for grabbing a cup of coffee. Would NOT recommend. If I could give a zero star, I would.
