Pros

Pay is pretty decent. Health insurance and benefits are very good -- mainly due to our union efforts (no charity or goodwill on the company's part). Advancing in seniority has its perks in terms of getting more winter work.

Cons

Long hours that really interfere with family/home life. Dispatch is very incompetent in giving directions. Definitely has a "good 'ol boys" club going on. Doesn't stick to the ideals they preach. Winter time makes it hard to make money for low seniority guys.

The people. People are so friendly and supportive of one another, they are what makes coming to work everyday worth it. Profit sharing plan is generous. They give back to the community.

Cons

Nepotism and failure to follow through on promises. Low pay, well below market.
