Pros

Better than average benefits -401K with 5% match, pension plan, several health ins plans to choose from with FSA option, life & disability ins. If you're fortunate enough (and I do stress Fortunate), you'll have an experienced manager who knows how to effectively steer the team. They will give the tools & set the precedent to encourage the team to strive to be their best. Manageable workload depending on your position. Company has implemented additional team building opportunities, so there's a chance to work with people outside your department. Company is willing to be more accommodating and has made some changes based off the most recent Employee Survey.

Cons

Disenchanted employees who want to make it public are a distraction & a drag on morale. Some depts are spread very thin. Pay and raises should be higher considering the ongoing knowledge necessary to do your job effectively. Company absolutely refuses to retire the professional dress code. High manager turnover in some depts, so if you have a good one, count on them being in the dept short-term as they will likely be moved within the company.

Pros

Nice colleagues. Stable company with a global presence. You won't get fired. Employees only work 8-5. You get to park for free at Bellevue Square.

Cons

What has been written critically before on Glassdoor is right on! White man's world. Old technology. Organizational culture is stuck in 1970's. The corporate building on the outside reflects the inside. There are many layers of hierarchy that create barriers to communication. Paccar has a very ingrained culture of fear and submission. Change is a four letter word. I wish I could have continued my career here, but life is too short.

Pros

Steady employment, pension plan and 401k matching, diverse employment opportunities.

Cons

Poor compensation, corporate culture stuck in the 1980s, refusal to modernize systems, no raises unless you move to a new job in the company.
