Pros

Well respected brand Company does make money Do promote education amongst employees A good place to retire - if you are really old, and need a place to squat - this is it.

Cons

Very Autocratic Employees have absoutly no voice in anything - unless you are a manager - you better be a great order taker, and have no thoughts of having to think on your own work or ideas. Other than senior management - this is a mindless place to work There is ZERO chance of making any kind of a difference unless you are Sr. Director level or above - and even then, your ability to influence is minimal - everything comes from the top-down. Prescribed vacations - even for salaried employees - they force vacations on salaried employees in order to make numbers - feels a bit like working at McDonalds at times I would never recommend this as a good place to make much of a difference

Pros

Decent Benefits and in a good location

Cons

The management treats their employees like crap, it's very common to hear people getting screamed at in the hallway or at their desks. People are terrified to make mistakes. It's very much a "good old boys" club and very old school, you wear suits to work everyday at corporate, the rest of the dress code is very formal for Seattle.

Pros

My coworkers were great and have met many close friends

Cons

Clueless managers do as they are told and don't think Promotions aren't given out on merit only on years with the company Outdated culture Compensation is weak compared to like companies Health care is expensive In the IT division most managers were never developers or have Computer background yet they are making the decisions All the work is going to India Hiring more H1B1 employees because PACCAR doesn't want to pay competitive wages and these employees are basically hostages All the talented developers are leaving for better opportunities then PACCAR downplays the individuals contributions Individual goals are set to match with the directors goals so the directors receive their incentive compensation goals. When anyone slightly important visits the Information Technology Division the employees must dress up (like this is fooling anyone). I have more but my fingers are getting tired.
