Pros

Pension and people are two of the great things. There are some opportunities for advancement, however very limited.

Cons

Lack of resource planning for work. If you work on projects that are not aligned to your managers goals then there is a conflict at review time. There are a few managers that I saw through the years that had experience and enjoyed deploying employees, however most of those folks are gone and have been replaced with newer managers. Unfortunately, the managers (no fault of their own) have not been taught how to develop people and struggle to understand their employees. Vacation is non-negotiable (start at 2 weeks). The atmosphere can be very depressing as there is little excitement to work there.

Pros

There is good pay and they provide some strong values but those are only applied prior to a "God Pigiot" visit. There are some really hard working shop floor employees.

Cons

Management is clueless about employee relations. They still utilize the "good ole boy" system when hiring management. Various HR violations go unreported if you are friends with certain HR professionals. WORK LIFE BALANCE is non existent.

Pros

Decent benefits, good focus on training and personal growth. Reasonable work-life balance. Interesting products to work on.

Cons

Compensation is only 'okay', and low for the area. Vacation and sick leave are extremely minimal. Very conservative at a corporate level. Middle management will do anything to look good when 'the chairman' comes to visit. Recent verbal-only policy change required everyone to shave beards and goatees at the whim of 'corporate policy'. Software used by engineering and production is embarrassingly ancient and inefficient.
