Pros

Good for your resume. Company performance is stable.

Cons

Buddy system runs rampant amongst upper management, promotion is based on that as opposed to having it be based off skill.

A company that is stuck in the past

Pros

Stable company if you do not work on the actual manufacturing floor, otherwise they do big layoffs. In addition, there is a lot of opportunity to move around to different departments and try different positions. This company is good for someone on the tail end of their career looking to retire. Good work life balance. In an industry where the product doesn't need to change, but this could be looked at as a pro or a con.

Cons

- Too conservative of a culture - Stuck in the "times". - Terrible company for professional development. - Low compensation - Subject to economic cycles - High turnover - There's a reason why PACCAR is rated so slow already.

Pros

Great corporate office location, with free parking at the mall. You get paid on time every pay period. As your tenure increases, you are better suited to be a candidate to travel back in time to the 1950s.

Cons

Bullying is rampant, starting with executives. Middle managers who shame, ridicule and humiliate their subordinates are rewarded as successful. This has led to a toxic and negative work environment. Flexible work hours are highly discouraged at the corporate office. Employees have one hour enforced lunches, but managers in certain departments verbally reprimand ( never in writing) salaried employees for penny pinching on hours by managers if they notice you taking a lunch break everyday. Work process is highly disorganized in many departments making successful completion of projects a rarity in the company. I have waited two years to write a review on this company hoping my opinion would change. It hasn't changed and I'm left with stress related health issues due to a highly toxic environment and 9X5 work weeks.
