      There are no Pros to consider.

      Cons

      Received tentative offer in 2016 contingent on obtaining clearance. Clearance awarded in 2017 but the offer and condition of work was changed due to new contract award. Also, the new offer letter contained a point of contact to reach if had questions but the person never responded to emails that was sent. I ended up going back and forth with another HR rep who basically stated there was no room for change.

      Pros

      My first contractor position for the government will also be my last position for the government as a contract worker.

      Cons

      No performance reviews, no cost of living increases, no merit raises, etc.

      A good place to work yet has some glaring shortcomings

      Pros

      Good pay, good benefits, most first line supervisors are competent, some work related travel to nice locations, 401(k) company contribution

      Cons

      Management depends too much on few individuals to accomplish the most challenging jobs, work related travel depends a lot on a good ole boy club relationship with certain managers, advancing is only possible when someone leaves that position so it could take as long as 15 years or as short as just being hired
