      good jobs for former military, if you can get it

      Pros

      You can fully utilize your specialty fields,you can pad your retirement, some pay is way above average for field, benefits can be good for certain unions, a lot of the jobs can be done with minmal micro-management

      Cons

      They cut corners and cater to Air Force ego projects, they get kicked around by labor unions that don't back workers, there's not much room for advancement, it can be Who you Know and not What you Know, will replace you in a heartbeat

      Pros

      My coworkers make work more enjoyable, and I really enjoy doing the work itself, its a fun job and gets more interesting every day.

      Cons

      Low pay for as much work as you're expected to do. PAE likes to bid low so they win contracts but then they can't pay their employees what they're worth. Their contracts are jammed with all of these expectations, which is fine, but for the low pay it doesn't seem worth it.

      Pros

      The contract I work on is decent. Pay is fair.

      Cons

      PAE corporate is disorganized. Onboarding was scattered and we are getting screwed compared to our prime contractor employees on site. They do the same job but they (XLA) get much better benefit options and flexibility with use of H&W.
