Pros

Benefits are decent; 401k and pension

Cons

Horrible management. This is a very toxic environment where they expect you to literally kill your self working for nothing in return not even flexible hours. Upper management is based on favoritism. Poor management style where they are all miserable and they are just there to make your life a living hell

Pros

-The people are the best part about working for this company. -Many experienced individuals who are willing to share their knowledge with the next generation of refinery professionals. -The company is very focused on making the moves necessary to insure the future profitability of its facilities - basically if a project will make the company money, they will pursue it as quickly as possible, which makes for an exciting working environment. -Good compensation, benefits and job security on all levels, especially when compared to other industries.

Cons

-Sometimes the pursuit of finishing things quickly puts people in the position of "hurry up and wait", i.e. you are working hard for no real reason. -There can be a real lack of ownership when something doesn't go right - it's always someone else's fault. -There is no reimbursement for graduate education, but they do pay for professional training (PMP, PE, etc.). -They are very slow to move to hire directly and utilize many contractors.
