Thanks for your review. Mentorship is a huge part of PCL's culture. We also ensure to follow regional OT legislation. If you have further concerns, please talk to your HRPD team.

Pros

Great projects, great people, great reputation

Cons

Long hours to be expected for a promotion. You are not as much of an investment as an engineer or manager would be for another company so more volatility in terms of job security

Thanks for your review. Construction can be a challenging industry, but also very rewarding. PCL has a mobility program that allows employees to maintain job security when projects finish. Make sure you stay in touch with your HR team, and look for opportunities on the PCL careers site.

Pros

Overall a good company to work for. The employee share program promotes a good work atmosphere; everyone helps each other and works well together, for the most part, since the better our projects due, the better the company does and the greater return for our dividend. There are also a lot of good opportunities within the company.

Cons

They tend to understaff projects in order to keep costs down and increase profits, which is good for the dividends. Problem is the dividends benefit the long term employees and executives a lot more than they do the people working in the trenches, taking on heavy workloads, putting in the long hours and weekends.

Thanks for your review. Employee ownership gives all PCLers a unique lens. We work for a company that empowers us with a stake in its success. If you observe something that is not in alignment with PCL values and you think needs improvement, you should bring your concerns up with your supervisor, HRPD Manager, or workforce manager.
