      Feels Like a Job, Not a Career

      Pros

      Good paycheck, especially for newer hires. Starting salaries are competitive in the industry.

      Cons

      Recruiters use false statements to lure top talent. Such as, "big company with a small company family feel". This is completely false, the company has a cold mega corporate feeling. Another misleading line is the mentorship program. No such program exists, and don't expect any mentoring whatsoever. Instead of mentoring, you will likely experience overhearing superintendents condisendily speaking about their staff. The employee ownership program was also used by recruiters, however experienced employees at PCL simply state "it's not what it used to be".

It is disappointing to hear that your experience at PCL is not reflected by what was told to you during the interview process. The PCL family of companies does have the support of a large company, but each office operates independently giving it the small company environment.       They have a good compensation packages. Also have a variety of areas of work.

      Cons

      Sometimes it's difficult to get them to do what they say they are going to do.

      Pros

      It is a very team oriented and fast paced company where everyone works together, excellent pay rates and awesome management

      Cons

      the only cons that I could possibly think of are that there is a lack of benefits other than that the company is top notch.
