Pros

Dynamic, fast-paced, intense environment surrounded by some of the best and brightest.

Cons

Very much a proprietary atmosphere with a lot of changes constantly with regard to procedure, policy, and goals. A lot of hiring and firing, pressure to perform without clear indicators of performance.

Pros

PEAK6 has been very successful as a business. This can lead to opportunities due to scale and very high level of business/trading expertise.

Cons

PEAK6 is fine company, but it has been difficult for even extraordinarily competent and professional CTOs, directors, and managers to survive within the PEAK6 partner/management structure.

Pros

You get access to some of the best and brightest people. High energy, entrepreneurial firm that is always thinking of how to do things better/differently. Collaborative teams, great space, and outstanding holiday parties (Flo Rida was the entertainment this year!). Benefits are also really good.

Cons

Financial services requires a lot of security, for good reason. If you haven't worked in a regulated environment the amount of security and restrictions to data might be unexpected.
