Pros

PennyMac is diligent to put all customers first (internal and external). The employees are at the top of the priority list for PennyMac. Putting us (employees) first as a company reinforces us, as employees, to put our customers first, and in turn the company thrives. During the difficult year of 2020, PennyMac proactively ensured the safety of its employees and customers. That was their top priority. This is the perfect example of why I'm proud to work for PennyMac.

Cons

Sometimes, things might not change or update as quickly as you would like. That said, when you look at the big picture, it will show you how careful we are to get it right the first time, so we do not waste time correcting it a second time.

Pros

The job is not exactly as advertised, but could certainly be a great one to have if led by better management. Coworkers were awesome and easy to socialize with. Job was challenging enough to keep engagement, while remaining an easy task.

Cons

The reason why I would not recommend this job is because there is no ambition to strive for greater. Leadership does not appreciate any collaboration to boost job performance. From my experience, my manager preferred to control and dictate the way in which a person must do their daily job functions. Manager was allowed to force the team to take lunch at a specific time with set times to take a break with no regards to the preferences of the the customers in regards to contacting them in relation to their loans. Also, the hours constantly changed. Management provided that hours would change from training to the official start, but they did not explain that hours would also change after you started the job. If this is the job that you would like to work, be prepared to be treated as a robot that is expected to do exactly as told. Free thinking is not allowed, even if it optimizes your job performance. Be sure to keep tabs on all of your job processes, but do not make it known. Screenshots are a necessity to have, but not need rather than to need and not have. I would also recommend that you get management to provide you either written or recorded affirmations of what you have been told. This is not to say that management is to not be trusted, but it is to say that you want to be well prepared just in case the job starts to become stressful and records start to age into a forgotten zone.
