Pros

The management is amazing. They sit right on the sales floor to coach you through everything from selling to freight move. Jon Kalchthaler, the satellite office leader, always had time to help even though I knew he was extremely busy handling an office of over 50. Andrew Barricks, the GSM, specializes in making it from the bottom as a successful Account executive, he once failed at this position and knows how to make it work as long as you are dedicated! Andrew is very hands on and both Managers are super easy to talk to. The environment is really fun, fast paced, and energetic and any negative complaints about the structure come from sour old employees who you knew weren't going to make it. They goofed around on the sales floor and were constantly distracted by the fun environment; really caught up in the culture as opposed to the actual position. The HR team and recruiters were AMAZING, they helped me with everything I needed and were super upfront about the hours we needed to work and gave me great advice since they had also been Account Executive and made it through the process themselves (something that spoke to the growth opportunities of this company).

Cons

This is a young company and you find out quickly that sales isn't for everyone. A lot of new grads want to "yes" the position to death just to get a job and then realize that they aren't meant for sales, a competitive environment, or hitting sales goals. The good news is that everyone is held to the same standard and you can ABSOLUTELY tell who will fail at sales based on their performance. I would ask the people who write negative reviews on this company how much effort they put into the company, especially since management straight up tells you how to succeed on a quantitative scale of phone calls and customer touches. I ended up moving to a different office but wish I could have stayed at PLS Houston for the awesome management and environment. Miss it everyday!!

Pros

Environment is so so. Very enticing "happy hours" and "potlucks". Some good people there but they'll be gone soon.

Cons

Resume building job. The expectations of making 100 calls a day is so old school and sad that this company is destined to close a few offices. Management has one guy that knows his stuff the other is a perfect brown nose who didn't make it as a salesman (but enough sucking up) got him a management position, weird. Seen people bust their butt with these 100 calls a day and still got canned. Tell you in the interview we'll review after a year, but people barely make it 5 or 6 months. Saw a guy start sales and was gone in 4 months. Training last a week and that's it. If you don't get someone willing to get you ready to sale well you're going to be gone pretty quick. Once you start sales it immediately becomes so negative you grow a passion of distrust and hate for the place. Clique up or be gone should be their motto. If you're not constantly sucking up to stroke egos, goodluck with your job search. Again resume builder. This is not a career job, not even a job if you really look at it. Half the positive reviews are from current brown nose employees. Don't be fooled kids find something better with more opportunity and stability.

Pros

meet some pretty cool people, can wear casual clothes, If you live out of state that not near any of their locations then they will pay for you to stay in an apartment till your 3 month training is done. So you get to save some money to get ahead start. The apartments are really nice and are about 6 min away from work.

Cons

job security is low. As soon as you miss your first goal you are canned. It is very hard to get a book of business going when PLS is not a big name business. C.H. Robinson or Ryder is a huge name and many companies know them so you have to try and convince them to go with you which is really hard. Don't feel there is any opportunity to move up with in the company. I personally wouldn't work with them but thats just me.
