Pros

The company culture was very good. It was a laid back atmosphere where I felt free to take time to wind down by playing ping pong or taking a walk. There is plenty of support if you feel like you need help in a certain area between sales managers and office leaders. This position will give you the opportunity to build cold calling, lead generations, and closing skills but you also have to handle all the operations and billing which takes away from your time selling. The starting salary is also very attractive plus commission once you've been selling for a little while.

Cons

Doing well and hitting your quotas isn't 100% on you. You're subject to truck availability and the time it takes to actually arrange the transportation. Quotas don't take into account what time of year you start selling - not good when shipping slows down in the winter. It's also pretty difficult to become one of the heavy hitters, you almost have to land a large account which are few and far between at this point.

Pros

Mostly everyone you work with is right out of college so the environment is fun. The ability to step away from the desk and toss a football or frisbee around for a few minutes is nice. The building itself is a nice place to work in Midtown. You can walk all over the area or go out on the balcony for a few minutes to get fresh air.

Cons

Set benchmarks that are realistic. I lasted longer then other members of my class, but a lot rests on luck. You can hammer out the cold calls everyday and get nothing from it. The managers are cool......if they like you. This will definitely give you a step up since they will give you the better customers whenever someone leaves or is terminated (this happens very very often). The fact that management expects you to find all your prospects on your own is pretty difficult. Requires a lot of extra work that you don't really get compensated for.

Pros

Very young group of people. Pay is pretty good. I had a great mentor for my 3 months of training/shadowing. Management is also helpful in times of uncertainty.

Cons

100 cold calls a day. Very stressful job. The industry is completely oversaturated. Only a small percentage rise to the top; the rest are terminated 6 months from beginning of employment.
