Pros

- Work with cool people - Not micro managed (mainly because they expect a majority of people that get hired on to get fired) - You learn a lot about the industry and what drives it

Cons

- Everything you have read about HIGH turnover is completely true. 1 out of 10 employees will make it. - Training process is a joke. - PLS's ratings were so bad at one point that management decided to ask employees to write good reviews so it doesn't deter people from interviewing.

Thank you for the review of your short time that you’ve spent at PLS. We strive to create success in our account executives, as our training process lasts about 3 months. You really learn a lot in such a short period though, this giant industry is very diverse and ever-changing. We do encourage our employees to review their experiences at PLS, we do not require it nor do we encourage false reviews. We simply would like to hear about everyone's experiences with PLS.

I've heard about that place. It sounds terrible!

Pros

The company offers the world to every employee, but can't back it up. If you are able suck up well enough, you can survive long enough to gain some experience. The shared experience of putting up with the company is so awful, that you become great friends with all of your co-workers out of commiseration.

Cons

When looking for a new job, MULTIPLE potential employers asked "I've heard about PLS. That place sounds awful! How did you work there so long?" Answering this question is what made me realize that I need to write this review. I wouldn't normally do this, but people deserve to know what they are getting into when working for OR WITH PLS. The company structure promotes a "he said she said" environment, with constant bickering between managers within and between departments. The CEO has a pattern of disappearing for months at a time, and micro managing when he decides to show back up for a couple of months. There is NO form of career development. There is no focus on how to improve individual performance. If you fit their numbers profile, you stay. I've personally seen MULTIPLE employees work for this company for years only to be let go without reason. Their termination policies are barbaric and just rude. You can follow their rules to the letter, be "successful" and get let go for making too much money . . . For a new sales person, they will make your job increasingly difficult as you begin to actually make money, by requiring you to not only do you job (sales) but also preform the tasks of every other department! Be prepared to need to be fluent in accounts payable, accounts receivable, carrier management, and dealing with a group of management that has the mentality of a highschool boys locker room.

It’s unfortunate to read about your experience with PLS. We are constantly focusing our attention on our employees and the work environment for all offices. We're actually starting new initiatives this year based on feedback from current and former employees. Additionally, we do allow an unlimited earning potential and we don’t let our team go without a valid reason. If you perform well and work hard, there can be a great future ahead. Thank you for your review, we will take this into consideration when strategizing new internal initiatives.

Pros

They say earning potential is limitless. (Not true, you will cap. The company is not supportive towards growing employee client book gets to a point that is almost impossible to pass alone). I guess there are no pros.

Cons

The CEO only cares about the bottom line. PLS will step on and over any employee to increase the bottom line 20k a year. I have never seen a company care so little for their employees, everyone is expendable and PLS does not care. Here is a few examples -ALL AE and AET employees are salary exempt. This means that can make work days 9.5 hours long and not pay you extra -once you roll out and get paid commissions ONlY (no salary) they still make you work office hours. I have never heard of any other commission only job that requires this. (Again, company greed and control issues) -company has over 160% turnover rate.... - company shut down at least 2 offices in 2017 - PLS lost their largest customer - company seems very financially compromised - when selling you will run into more customer credit issues than you can imagine, PLS cannot take a financial to give a 300M customer more than 20-30k credit.... - non compete , PLS will make you sign a non compete and WILL change me after it if you break it l. I mean if you quit PLS and go work for another transportation company (do nothing wrong but get a new job) PLS will come after you. I could go on but if you are reading this I would highly recommend just passing on PLS and go work for any other 3PL. It will be the best decision you make. Just really decide if you want to waste your time here. Personally it's not worth the tiny pay check.
