Overall a good place to work

Pros

work life balance, generous PTO, overall good benefits, can wear jeans to office

Cons

Hiring can be slow when trying to help work load. some areas still need help in that area. Some departments don't have much for growth. I think some get positions created for them and others have to wait for people to leave before moving up.

Great Starting Job

Pros

You'll get the best GMP experience. PPD excels in their training program and really pounds in proper GMP practice and documentation.

Cons

It's very difficult to have a proper work life balance. Although the hours are very flexible, the work load and demand can be very high.

Pros

It’s a job, the people are nice to work with.

Cons

50 hours a week is not enough time to handle the work load provided. The business is predicated on having more work than people to do it. There is no way in this position to regulate the amount of work at any giving time, theoretically you could have an unlimited amount of work that is needed to be completed immediately.

It's pretty good

Pros

Lots of fun coworkers, scientific discussions, care about your understanding of processes and training, ask what you would like to learn/develop skills with, employee appreciation lunch/gifts,

Cons

don't follow through with challenging senior employees. Hiring lots of people which is lessening the work load (can be good but I'm getting bored. after awhile it is not very challenging. struggle to develop skills at higher levels. promotions are unfair sometimes. You'll watch people with no common sense get promoted, make more money, and allowed to make the same mistakes over and over.

Pros

PPD has proven itself to be a compassionate and progressive company which is a difficult balance to maintain. The company is proud of its diverse interests and truly offers something for everyone. I have been fortunate to have maintained job security during the pandemic and see reassurance in the fact that our company has had the resources and stability to continue to hire more employees rather than cut jobs or salaries.

Cons

The hours can be long and the work load can build up quick.

Pros

- Lots of learning/training opportunities - opportunity for upward mobility - benefits are great / lots of PTO

Cons

- lack of autonomy - negative culture and work environment - coworkers constantly complaining, most of whom have been there a long time - work load is either overwhelming or you have nothing to do. No in between.
