      After 25 years, they ended my employment without warning

      Pros

      Good benefits - Health, Dental is competitave 401K match 1:1 up to 6% Some employees from acquisitions have pension plans Flexible work schedules for office positions

      Cons

      Current CEO is not liked and moving company in wrong direction financially and employee engagement is at all time lows. The last 10 years they have been downsizing headcount and adding more and more responsibilities onto existing staff. HR is being replaced by Workday and most training is videos from the Workday system versus professional training personell.

      Pros

      Excellent place for young people to learn with great support system for lower level positions. PPG is very fiscally conservative and they will always make money because of it.

      Cons

      Extremely political and profit now mentality. Rather than investing in plant upgrades and long term growth they prefer executive bonuses, stock buybacks, acquisitions, and benefits cuts. Communicated culture messages vary wildly and don't match actual culture. This shows when hiring experienced workers from the outside, they typically don't last long. Turnover is far more common now than it used to be but it's accepted because of the cost savings benefits.

      PTO, flexible schedule, awesome coworkers, opportunity for growth

      Cons

      poor communication from top down, workload is continuously increased causing burn-out, cost-cutting/saving measures imposed by upper management typically do not consider how it affects regular employees
