      Pros

      -- Good benefits overall - good heath & dental insurance, excellent retirement contribution (100% on the first 6% of your salary) -- Compensation seems good; there's always an annual bonus

      Cons

      -- PPG denied my retention bonus. We had a signed agreement that they kept amending by extending the date to which I had to work to receive the bonus. I worked for over a year until I had had enough and left. -- There is no maturity in the IT department (where I worked) to improve processes. They continue to do things the same way without any forethought on how to make processes more efficient or resolving the root issues (more the band-aid solutions) -- They run a lean IT shop; With all the acquisitions, it's a tough place to work. The IT managers don't really understand the technology and areas they manage.

      Pros

      Decent benefits, but they are decreasing all the time, especially if hired after 2008. A stable company.

      Cons

      The plant manager is as hard headed as they come. They preach employee engagement, but what they really mean is for you to be excited to do things how they tell you to. Innovation and hard work is not appreciated. There is no room for advancement. Upper plant management plays favorites especially 1st shift over 2nd shift. Former 2nd shift supervisor was really good but left, I'm guessing due to unfairness. Work/life balance is not considered, lots of mandatory overtime due to constant understaffing.

      Pros

      Large company, american-like approach, constantly growing and providing interesting challenges. From the work load and composition point of view, it's perfect. Ongoing projects, new acquisitions, fluid IT environment which can be subjected to redesign and tweaking, lots of room to have an IT specialist put his innovative spirit into play.

      Cons

      1. Local office policies in Brno. 2. Local office policies in Brno. 3. Local office policies in Brno. 4. Local office policies in Brno. and so on. While i understand the purpose of the Brno location is to have back-office financial services, extending the policies to all personnel that works there is a poor decision.
