Pros

Opportunity to learn how science research works in the world of software, and to interact with many different parts of the organization

Cons

Software is limited and oversold. The scientific funtionlity is based more on doing relatively simple things at scale as opposed to true state of the art scientific analysis. In addition, not much flexibility with respect to how to improve solutions from a scientific perspective
