Pros

Rewarding working with kids. Can make a difference. Summers and holidays off. No evening or weekends. Autonomous position.

Cons

Health benefits are unaffordable and must work 30 hours/week to qualify. The low pay and expensive benefits make it worthless to move up in the company. No matching 401K or retirement perks. No job security. Work a lot from home unpaid. Managers not available to answer questions because too busy. Cannot work for competition for 18 months after leaving.

Pros

Can’t beat the school hours, especially if you have children yourself. I’ve spoken with many “higher-up” employees and everyone has been very kind.

Cons

The pay is pretty low, and I wish there was continuing education help.
