      Great place to work, if you can survive frequent layoffs and ride the waves of upper management's shifting whims.

      Pros

      Flexible work schedule; lots of opportunity to work remotely; generous vacation/PTO policy (if you stay/survive at the company long enough to reach the higher PTO levels.)

      Cons

      Frequent layoffs. Constantly shifting upper management focus. (Management chases market trends whimsically, to the detriment of its core product areas.) The MCAD (and increasingly also Windchill) product areas are used as cash cows. Work/life balance makes it hard to use all your available PTO.

      Politics + Management Challenges + Company Direction

      Pros

      + Working from home + Easy hiring process + Travel every other week typically (so you aren't forced to travel weekly)

      Cons

      - Lay offs galore - Executive leadership strategy does not trickle down to managers - Lots of company politics and having to "suck up" to directors to get a promotion (not merit based) - Company is indifferent about poor managerial skills - Clients often have bad POV of PTC - 4 month training academy for Associate Consultants is a joke.. Could be limited to 1 or 2 months! - Was hired with 15 others and told "guaranteed promotion to consultant within 6 months" - worked for a year without a promotion - WAY too many delays- i.e. wasn't assigned a manager until 6 months in and we were supposed to have one at 2 months. - Lots of misdirection.. Poor company foresight led to several months of "being on the bench" with no project work and stagnating. - Too much bureaucracy and lack of communication between various components of the company

      Pros

      Interesting work. Loyal customers. Evolving technology set focused on improving engineering product development and service lifecycle. Interesting set of recent acquisitions in the Internet of Things space: Axeda, ThingWorx, Coldlight, etc. Moving to a subscription software model and working to modernize the software solutions via cloud, data and IoT offerings.

      Cons

      High turnover among sales and technology staffs. Frequent changes in senior and mid-level management make it difficult to build effective field teams, and relationships.
