Pros

Work with some of the most talented people on groundbreaking technology that will change the way people interact with their devices. Good benefits, although the Cigna health plans leave a lot to be desired, 20 days PTO your first year, paid holidays, early release on Fridays before holidays, and social hour at 3 on Fridays (free beer and snacks). Company is transitioning from a legacy licensed software business model, and moving into the SaaS/IoT sphere, and there are lots of opportunities to work on the latest and greatest.

Cons

Despite moving away from it, the company isn't well known outside of the CAD/PLM world, so there are some name recognition issues, unlike Qualcomm. While the company tries to act like a startup, there are many layers of process in place that make it feel more like an lumbering corporate giant stuck in 1985. We have so many issues in the San Diego office with the network, especially the wireless. Our IT person is very helpful, and he does a great job of keeping systems running smoothly, but it's very obvious that he doesn't get much help from HQ. I know we're not the only remote office having issues, but for a software company, the infrastructure could be much better. Pay is slightly below market, and raises are meager, no bonuses unless you're in sales. Hard to get excited about some internal initiatives, like PTC 2020 and Zone to Win; feels very corporate and contrived. No one in our office is allowed to work-from-home, while PTC as a whole has a generous WFH policy.

Pros

You get to keep your earned points from traveling.

Cons

Below market pay for consultants. You'll barely speak to your career manager or upper management at all, so no one will be aware of your work ethic and value you bring to the company when it's review, promotion, and raise time. They do layoffs often. They are supper focued on Thingworx and IOT, which isn't taking off as they hoped, so PLM, SLM, RFA, WFM, and other segments are lacking in projects and attention, equating to layoffs, not paying out bonuses, and revenue loss. Be prepared to travel every week as a consultant.
