Business Outlook
Pros
The people in my office are talented and good to work with, including the local management. Compensation is good, including standard benefits, stock purchase plan and RRSP matching. Vacation policy is generous. Sick time allotment is not so great but it has not been an issue for me. Little perks like birthday vacation and 2 days per year to spend on volunteering.
Cons
Lack of trust in the long term direction of the company. They regularly acquire companies and seem to change focus every few years. Regular layoffs across the organisation. Don't get complacent. If you are not working on 'the new shiny' then you might find your project cancelled or moved to India.
