Pros

It's interesting work, with an interesting, diverse, workforce. A great place to build a resume.

Cons

Too many employees have left and not been replaced, spreading the workload across everyone's desk. We start earlier and end the day later. Many have no time to take their vacation days, so just give them back to the company. The money grab by those in Omaha is incredible.

Amazing experience learning how the sausage is really made at a large, dynamic electric utility that has name-recognition in the industry. Puts you in a good position for an exit to consulting. Plus, you can tell people at cocktail parties that you work for Warren Buffett. Great opportunities for smart, fast, early career workaholics.

Cons

Compensation and benefits are not in line with what is available elsewhere. Leadership verges on sociopathic, and rewards other sociopaths. Many employees are lazy and treat their jobs as if they work as a cashier at Walgreens, forcing high performers to pick up the slack. Hostile and toxic work environment with low morale as layoffs and cuts continue.

Annual Incentive Plan -- nice that it is holding its value year-over-year as the same cannot be said for all benefits at the company.

Cons

Employee share of medial benefits is rising and usefulness of benefits is declining. Newer employees have even fewer benefit options.
