Pros

Reasonable comp, interesting and changing industry.

Cons

Negative culture driven from above. All about cost savings, often at the cost of real efficiency gains.

Pros

- Jobs seemed pretty stable. - Some nice perks like free transit passes. - Everyone was professional. - Never had to work late, always got to leave at 5.

Cons

- Very lackluster pay and benefits, not competitive at all in the tech field. - Soul-sucking culture, no employee focus AT ALL. Just a miserable place. - Work was slow, boring and mired in bureaucracy. - Very hierarchical structure. - Many people seemed pretty incompetent (although many were much the opposite).

Pros

Amazing when owned by Scottish Power - very employee focused.

Cons

Not so much under Mid-American. Completely stripped of all employee focused efforts, benefits, etc. Soul-less.
