Pros

The tenants at my location were the main reason I stayed with the company as long as I did. They created a positive and supportive environment that made coming to work enjoyable.

Cons

I encountered several issues within the corporate setting that conflicted with my personal values and professional standards. The leadership team in Oregon has a close-knit dynamic, which often translates to a lack of accountability. This "friends first" mentality can make it feel more like a high school football game, where unprofessional behavior is cheered on rather than addressed. There is a prevalent culture of attributing various issues to budget constraints, which feels more like an excuse than a valid reason. There is a lack of effective communication and proper training, which may cause a lot of frustration, If you consider accepting a role with this company, it's wise to keep your options open and be prepared for the potential challenges in the corporate environment.

Pros

The salary is very good and the only reason I continue to show up to work here.

Cons

Clueless upper management who don't have any idea what actually goes in in the company. Full of suck ups that don't know how to actually do their job and got promoted by sucking up to upper management. They pay people 6 figures who sit around all day and "work" from home when all they are really doing is taking naps and watching TV. Upper management loves to come up with stupid ideas on how to change the company without actually considering the costs or negative effects.

Good people, poor leadership

Pros

Great offices, many very nice colleagues, great benefits, and generous paid time off after a few years of service. The community people seem to be great overall. There are many people who genuinely care and want to provide excellent senior services. Very loyal long term employees.

Cons

Bad communication on important issues and decisions. Unclear expectations in many areas. No vision for the future. No meaningful forward planning or follow through at the top. No accountability for mistakes made by VPs or higher. Others have to pick up the pieces. People are promoted to made-up VP or Director roles with vague job descriptions and high salaries - without even so much as an interview. Perfect opportunity to keep high-achievers underpaid and move goal posts when someone at the top felt threatened. Women seem to be second-class citizens here in many departments. Job duties will expand quickly and they put a lot of pressure on people to do multiple jobs for the same pay. New hires would be wise to negotiate pay increases immediately.
