Pros

a lot of fun. you will meet many like-minded individuals and spend a lot of time together. great if you need a place to live or want to move cross country to explore California. most kids enjoy the programs and are fun to work with. 3 meals a day when you're working.

Cons

pays less than minimum wage, all things considered. some staff can be a little r@cist, a little hom0phobic, but that's the camp life in a nutshell. if you are queer/trans and don't mind being stealth it's a good time. there's not much to do in running springs, so make plans to explore down the mountain on your time off or you'll find yourself at the awful staff parties. do not go to champagne and shackles.

Thank you for taking the time to review Pali Institute. The days have changed drastically since 2014, we now have more consistent student numbers and more nurses on staff to help with the very busy days. We pride ourselves on our community and still only bring in staff that are passionate about the outdoors and love working with children. Feel free to reach out to me at skane@palimountain.com if you want to learn more about the changes we have made!

Thank you for providing your feedback. Helps us consider areas of improvements! We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed the people you worked with and the area! Sorry the pay isnt more, camp pay isnt way up there, but we provide free offsite housing, utilities and meals a lot of higher paying jobs do not! So we hope that helps, a few less things to worry about!
