Pros

I like the product and so do the customers. The non-manager employees are smart and easy to engage with. Good IPO of course but that is over. Definitely will learn from your job and work experience.

Cons

Middle management that is horrible to work for or with. Lack of understanding with some customers and the way they do business. Overly focused and driven by sales. Multiple times I had customers tell me that "Palo Alto is arrogant and while they have one of the best products now that will not always be the case". Believe customers will leave when market catches up. Spends ridiculous amount of money on events titled "training" or "SKO" then requires employees (non-managers) to share rooms. This is counter intuitive and speaks to management decisions.

Pros

The product is phenomenal and is the best in the marketplace for sure! The health benefits are fantastic. Free snacks. I can only speak for the sales side - didn't do much on the technical side.

Cons

The sales management needs major improvements. One can still make money there in inside sales, just not as much as a year or two years ago because upper management changed all that. Be prepared to defend your every detail of every sale!!! There is no direction there so be prepared to just jump in and sink or swim. Make sure you fully understand the job before you take it - don't be afraid to ask specific questions before you commit. If you start at an entry level position and want to move "up" to inside sales, don't expect much help. But - if you are very assertive and work diligently and take action - you should move up, especially since so much of the good talent left. Good luck.
