Pros

-Great work Life Balance -Incredible Benefits -Company that wants to promote and invest in their workers -Very easy to follow educational videos -Expectations and company standards are made very clear -Employee review every 6th months (and mostly comes with a small raise)

Cons

Holy moly where do even I start? If you end up on the wrong team good luck because you’ll be doing FARRRR beyond your “job description”. The more you move up in this company the more they’ll stress the hell out of you, and you can’t pretend to hide it because that stress rains down to the daily staff running each location. AMs, GMs, ACOs, ect. are even honest about it and that they are exhausted and have strict deadlines to meet. I’ve even known and worked for people who have intentionally demoted themselves due to this. Also I would say the company comes across overall as pretty racist against black ppl. It could just be my location but then again the company claims it promotes diversity and inclusivity- which to an extent is true. I have had both a gay ACO and Latina ACO and work with people from all different backgrounds, disabilities and walks of life ect. BUT you RARELYYYY and I mean IF EVER see Black people in management or higher up positions. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and Panda’s Linked In. You’ll RARELY if EVER see a black ACO or RCO…

Pros

You can get promoted very fast if you work hard enough. Opportunities to meet the founders of the company My associates were fantastic. I was fortunate enough to have had a wonderful team. The guests I often interacted with were an absolute joy to be with. After my time at Panda, I still miss both the guests and my team deeply

Cons

Nothing seems to never be good enough for upper management. At some point in time, they told managers that they specifically want a certain number of BOH/FOH at EVERY STORE. I can understand that for smaller stores but some are larger so more staff is needed. A lot of their priority goes into reducing labor to increase profits. This just burns out our staff members at an accelerated rate without any consideration. Upper management visits the store at random times to check the performance and quality of food and cleanliness. Which is fantastic! Least until they see a small stain by the manager station or dishes piling up during a rush. Then that's marks points off your book and increases your chances of getting write-ups and eventually fired. The company forces all managers, shift leads, etc to listen to the Panda Podcast. Completely unnecessary information but preached constantly as if a cult.

We also hear your concerns about leadership expectations, workload, and how feedback is delivered. Your perspective is important, and we’ll continue working to create a more balanced and supportive environment for our managers and associates.
