Pros

I was treated like a non-human being and disrespected in front of many other patrons. The Asian cashier and server were extremely rude disrespectful. I will never eat at or recommend Panda Express again. The staff of Panda Express and the Supervisors need some customer service skills and training. The server did not give me all of my Teriyaki chicken and when I requested the rest of my portion, she refused, rolled her eyes, rolled her neck, and started trying to argue with me in front of the other customers. The way I was treated, no one should be treated that way. This restaurant is disgusting in how they treat their customers of color.

It appears that the chain is founded and ran on the principles of racism.

Pros

Free food, pretty ok pay for someone in their low 20’s.

Cons

Bad schedule, say bye to your social life. Employees come and go, or call out constantly, leaving you to juggle their jobs, and if someone calls out, be prepared to work their shift even if you only work half day. Supposed quarterly bonuses are impossible to reach, 90% of the time. Very demanding for the pay, and working conditions aren’t the best. No useful benefits, aside from free food. Having a university degree gets 0 consideration for pay, or even being hired, you’re valued the same as a highschool dropout. Heard tons of employees from multiple stores getting carpel tunnel from working here, and it’s no joke, beware. Be prepared to work 40-60 hour workweeks, and to get burnt out to the max with no consideration for your mental or physical well being. Upper management has favorites, and it’s a little SPECIFIC, but I won’t get into that here. So if you’re not in with them, good luck. $0 in tuition reimbursement.

Pros

I can't think of any pros

Cons

Panada leadership is horrible. The ACO, General Manager, Assistant Managers have no leadership skills in the Renton, WA area. They tell people what to do but they don't train them. They consider training when you start working with no formal education or shadowing. Changes to the menu, prices, and policies happen all the time but management never tells you ahead of time. Often the customer will know the changes before you do. Store is always short staffed and management complains there are too many people and not enough work is being done. Management doesn't work on the weekends, doesn't open, and doesn't close the stores. They make the PICs and shift leads do everything. All management does all day is sit at the tables where the customers are supposed to eat and talk about how poorly the stores are doing. Management never says anything positive about their employees. Worse, they hire the worst people and there is a high turnover rate of employees across the board ~ 80%. If you are a AM or Manager, expect to drive all over Puget Sound to different stores that are short. The ACO will call you at the last minute to do to this store, that store, and there is no appreciation. Online training is horrible. You have to complete all the eModules standing up and it is the same computer system everyone clocks in so you are constantly being interrupted and can't focus because you are right in the kitchen. You can't train at home. If Panda wants you to train at home, you don't get paid. They also recently increased the starting pay for new employees but did not adjust the pay for employees who have been working there for a long time. Basically, the senior employees are getting paid close to what new starting employees are getting paid. Lots of employees are pissed and have quit. Good job Panda!
