Good first job for high school students

Pros

Workers got discounted food during the day, or free food from the bakery after closing. The hours for part-time workers were also (usually) flexible

Cons

The customers at Panera were as picky as the stereotypical Starbucks customer, but with pastries and lunch items to scrutinize. The managers also had a habit of scheduling workers for shifts they didn't normally work, and without telling them. This resulted in more than one confused and angry phone call from the manager on duty while I was in class (in high school, no less) or on a day off, although all were resolved
