Pros

I like working here because of the family like atmosphere. The managers are decent, and for the most part are understanding. They like to promote from within. and they donate all leftover bread, pastries, and sweets to homeless shelters every night. Lots of training to prepare you.

Cons

Just like with any family sometimes you don't get along with everyone all the time. They don't let you have any breaks, and you have to stand your whole entire shift. The old GM was very rude and has said some very unprofessional and hurtful things to me. He has now been promoted to DM. Also they don't start everyone off at the same pay.

Pros

Flexible hours, opportunities to advance within store, money off meals.

Cons

Managers who don't know what they're doing, lazy co-workers, lots of high schoolers.

Pros

Panera had a very flexible schedule. I could switch shifts with people, if my fellow employees were willing to take it(which was most of the time a "no"). Panera would work around my school schedule and that was a plus.

Cons

Management. new managers and employees were CONSTANTLY coming and going, it was so hard to keep track of things and people. Many of the managers were not friendly, i really felt like i couldn't talk to them about work and other problems with employees. my salary was kept at minimum wage although i was working there for two years and had been a loyal employee. I found the Panera team extremely frustrating ad every manager was consistently on edge, most taking a smoke break once or twice during a shift. I never felt as if i was part of a team. It was a dog-eat-dog job and I'm surprised i lasted as long as i did. If you have a hard time dealing with extremely stressful and fast paced environments, this job is DEFINITELY NOT FOR YOU.
