Good for a temporary job

Pros

Ive worked at a few different jobs in the food and retail industry and working here as a delivery driver was the most bearable by far. You spend most of your shift driving and in between driving you can usually find busywork. Managers and coworkers are usually very friendly and fair. I worked between 12 and 16 hours a week and averaged usually at least $17/hour between tips and hourly wage (this was at the Ahwatukee location though). If I stayed late or it was a busy night I would sometimes make a lot more. Overall it was just a very easy part time job and was comfortable and pleasant enough

Cons

Apartment nights where they have insiders crank out 100 pizzas and have drivers deliver mass amounts of pizza to an apartment complex lobby to sell them for $5 each. Annoying for everyone and just made for it to be extremely hectic and regular orders would get pushed back and taken way late due to all the mass amounts of pizza being made and boxed. They started out doing this once a month, but it became more regular until they had us doing it literally almost every day. Gave a very "we care about money, not our employees" vibe. To tell you how it was higher ups refused to be there on apartment nights because of how hectic it was. Theyre supposed to be closed on Thanksgiving but the franchise owners I worked for decided they wanted to make more money so they made us be away from our families during the holidays to make and deliver pizzas. And didnt even pay us holiday pay. On top of being unfair to workers that's just plain stupid. Its thanksgiving. A holiday about cooking and eating a huge meal with your family. As predicted it was completely dead. We had to miss thanksgiving with our families for basically nothing. In the same vein of my franchise owners caring more about money than employees, they started cutting down on labor to the point that it was extremely difficult to get all your stuff done and get out on time because some days it was too busy and there werent enough workers. The GM we had when I left would some days just "forget" to schedule a closer which screwed over whoever was working. He did that several times. Sometimes we'd have specific managers that wouldn't send you home unless you were pushy about it- even if you were supposed to be off an hour or two ago. Due to labor cuts even with good managers you wouldnt always get out on time. Also due to rising pizza costs and rising delivery fees (its like $4 now I think) tips got lower and lower. Most people these days tip like $2 per order and an increasing amount of people dont tip. Theres more little things but I feel like most of those are just the little annoying things that usually are to be expected when working in the fast food industry.

Ok if you're in High School/Young

Pros

Flexible schedule. I could see this being very good if you're in High School or straight out of high school. Tips (delivery) can be decent, depending on the area. Freedom while on the road. (not couped in a building all day/night)

Cons

Base pay is horrid and even worse when you're on the road. (delivering) Management very unprofessional and poor in general. Morals lacking in general. Uncomfortable work environment. (managers liked to throw tantrums or talk negatively about subordinates in front and behind backs) No benefits and few options to be full time. (most people, especially drivers are part-time)
