      Pros

      Great opportunity to learn and grow in an exciting industry. A lot of responsibility available if willing to take it.

      Low pay, high stress environment and often long hours.

      A good CRO to work for

      Pros

      I've never worked for a CRO that has better project management than PAREXEL. CRAs aren't "bounced around" here; when assigned to a project, I have remained on that project until completion. The Clinical Monitoring Associate position (kind of like in-house CRAs) is extremely helpful to the monitoring group. PXL promotes from within.

      Cons

      Project teams are spread out globally, so there is some frustration with time zones. There has been moderate management restructuring several times in the 3 1/2 years I've been with PXL, which leads to changes in line managers more frequently than I'd like.

      Pros

      I've been in research as a CRA for 10 yrs, device & now pharma. I have never felt more supported in my professional & personal life than now. My LM, James May, is the best manager I've ever had in my career. Not only does he care, but he works as my advocate to get me closer to my career goals & experience I desire in multiple therapeutic areas. This is also my first experience as a CRA where my hard work & skill set are regularly recognized & rewarded including salary increases & bonus opportunities.

      Cons

      A good manager (LM) is key. If you're not satisfied, say something. PXL has proven to be a company that will work with you.
