I was a software engineer here for a few years and I learnt so much. I was good at coding when I started but not that good, but I learnt so much and got involved in a lot of dev work which really helped me gain skills and experience to progress my career.

Cons

The work can be repetitive, write code, unit test, repeat....you do this every sprint and can get a bit boring eventually. Sometimes the stories and features you are assigned are quite difficult to understand and implement so you find yourself struggling to do it, and asking for help can make you look like you don't know what you're doing and get looked down on.
