Pros

I've been at the firm for over 6 years and each of the following pros have been consistent for my time here - Work life balance, I have the right level of flexibility to balance my work responsibilities with life responsibilities (Family, friends, hobbies, etc.) - Each of the teams I have worked on have been filled with great people. Everyone pulls their weight, supports one another, and treats each other with respect - I've been fortunate enough to have excellent formal and informal mentors who have helped me grow in my career. Promotions criteria is clear and the expectations are attainable. I've been able to be promoted every year that I've been at the firm.

Cons

There are no bonus structures for going above and beyond as an individual. This can feel like a con if you're really crushing it, but total comp is set to salary, benefits, and ESOP. The consistency and predictability is very nice though.

Not a good fit

Pros

The people here are friendly and open-minded, and the firm recently became a certified B-Corp. They are 100% transparent about employee pay, so everybody knows how much we are all earning.

Cons

- Principals and above are required to bring in and convert new business, which is not where I wanted to focus my career. They refuse to hire a dedicated sales team. - They insist on employees being generalists and not specialists. - There are far too many internal initiatives that take up too much time. These initiatives are burdensome and feel like a chore. - They also require employees to commit 30+ hours per year to community service, which is admirable, but I firmly believe it should be a personal choice and not be a job requirement. - They make processes unnecessarily complicated.
